Explore Albania's Hidden "Mayan City" of Grabova Village
Explore the forgotten city of Grabova. It's history dates back to both the Roman and Byzantine Empires. Grabova saw its most rapid development between the 14th and 17th centuries.
During the Middle Ages, Grobova held 12,000 inhabitants. Evidence of these times is still around today, where visitors can see ancient churches, bridges, and a cobblestone water system.
The Church of Saint Nicholas boasts frescoes and iconostasis of carved woods, with a bell tower occupying a large part of the church. Archaeological objects such as earthenware, work tools, peaks, and especially the fragments of castle walls are still preserved.
